I decided to try my chance on a whim because I've grown tired of renting, and Veterans United stood out to me because they cater to veterans like me. And I am soo happy I trusted myself. The process was extremely easy and stress-free from beginning to end. Our loan officer was always in contact with us for any needed questions or details. They helped us find awesome real estate agents to work with and we closed within a month! STARTING OUT, MY EXPERIENCE WITH VU WAS GREAT! INITIALLY, I BEGAN WORKING WITH JARED AND HE WAS AWESOME. HE WAS VERY PERSONABLE AND WE HAD GREAT CONVERSATION. HE WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE AND WILLING TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT I HAD AND PROVIDE INFORMATION THROUGHOUT THIS PROCESS. KYLE WAS ALSO A GREAT VU CONCIERGE TO WORK WITH. THESE TWO MADE THE PROCESS RELATIVELY EFFORTLESS AND I WOULD ABSOLUTELY WORK WITH THEM AGAIN.MY EXPERIENCE WENT DOWNHILL WHEN MY FILE WAS TRANSFERRED TO ALICE. ALTHOUGH SHE IS VERY NICE, SHE ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE IN A RUSH WHEN WE WERE ON THE PHONE. SHE DIDN'T REALLY LISTEN TO WHAT I WAS SAYING OR THE QUESTIONS I WAS ASKING AND WOULD FREQUENTLY CUT ME OFF MID-SENTENCE, WHICH IS A HUGE PET PEEVE OF MINE. ALSO, WHEN I GOT TO THE CLOSING TABLE, I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE THE WIRE OF THE CLOSING COSTS PRIOR TO THE CLOSING DATE. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT I HAD TO COMPLETE THE WIRE PRIOR THE CLOSING. MY LOAN OFFICER DIDN'T BOTHER TO EXPLAIN THAT INFORMATION TO ME. LUCKILY, I HAD TIME TO GO TO NAVY FEDERAL TO GET A CASHIER'S CHECK BUT THAT SITUATION COULD HAVE TURNED OUT TERRIBLY IF I DIDN'T HAVE A BANK IN THE AREA. IT JUST SEEMS THAT SHE WOULD HAVE CALLED TO GO OVER ALL OF THAT INFORMATION WHEN THE FINAL LOAN DISCLOSURE BECAME AVAILABLE JUST ENSURE WE WERE ON THE SAME PAGE. I WAS GENEROUS AND GAVE HER A 7\10 ABOVE BECAUSE SHE WAS TYPICALLY EXPEDITIOUS TO RESPOND TO TEXTS AND SHE DID A GREAT JOB EXPLAINING BUYING DOWN THE INTEREST RATE VS. PAYING A HIGHER DOWN PAYMENT.MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH VU WASN'T TERRIBLE BUT IT WASN'T THE GREATEST EITHER. I WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH JARED AND KYLE AGAIN BUT WOULD PREFER NOT TO WORK WITH ALICE IN THE FUTURE SHOULD I CHOOSE TO REFINANCE OR FINANCE ANOTHER PROPERTY THROUGH VU.
The entire team at Veterans United was great! This was my second time buying a house, shopping for mortgages, and the like, and Veterans United immediately stood out when I was looking for a lender not only because of their focus on VA lending but also because they are well-known for providing good service. I had a chance to experience that good service firsthand -- the team stayed in touch through the short (just 2 weeks from offer to close!) process and was attentive enough that I felt like I was their only client, even though they surely had many more. I had a unique loan situation, and the team worked through everything quickly and professionally. The online portal was also easy to use from pre-qualification all the way to post-closing. Throughout the homebuying process, I could tell that Veterans United values its partners in adjacent industries and that those same partners valued their relationships with Veterans United as well -- signs of a respectable, well-established, and reputable business in the community. I can confidently say that I would consider Veterans United for any future mortgages.
