Grant Schneider at the Colorado Springs office was very aggressive about getting my business when competing with Peoples Mortgage, which I viewed as a positive and a negative. His competition had been lagging with sending me figures and rebuttals, so he offered to lock me into an advantageous rate immediately under the logic that the other Peoples was costing me money each day. He wasn't wrong, and in the end, I closed with a rate that I'm more than comfortable with. For that, Grant has my thanks- I agree, I should've pulled the trigger sooner. However, this rate came at a cost that Grant hadn't disclosed during our phone conversation. In order to get this rate, I had to pay (from recall, so take this number with a grain of salt) 0.5 points to Veterans United up-front. I'm more than game to have paid that, but I would've liked for that to be more of a conversation instead of an assumption that I didn't want to negotiate on the points paid.Again, Grant has my thanks, and his initiative and knowledge are appreciated.
